Myer Fashions on your Front Lawn ambassadors announced
Olivia Molly Rogers and Rob Mills announced as the 2020 Myer Fashions on your Front Lawn ambassadors
The Victoria Racing Club (VRC) and Myer are delighted to announce Olivia Molly Rogers and Rob Mills as the 2020 Myer Fashions on your Front Lawn Ambassadors.
The pair will showcase all the fashion, fun and frivolity of Cup Week and judge the Myer Fashions on your Front Lawn Just For Fun categories alongside Myer Ambassador Kris Smith, Nova’s national drive show co-host Joel Creasey and champion trainer and VRC Ambassador Gai Waterhouse.
Olivia, a Melbourne based speech pathologist and model, is one of Melbourne’s most fashionable faces and a racing enthusiast having partnered with the VRC in 2019 as the inaugural Melbourne Cup Carnival Ambassador. She is also an ambassador for the VRC’s charity partner Very Special Kids.
“I am so thrilled to be again partnering with the Victoria Racing Club in my role as 2020 Myer Fashions on your Front Lawn Ambassador,” Olivia said.
“I first attended Derby Day when I was 18 and have the fondest memories of celebrating the Melbourne Cup Carnival over the years both on-track and at home with family and friends. Although we will celebrate differently in 2020, I encourage everyone across Australia to get into the Melbourne Cup Carnival spirit at home, embrace the digital competition and dress-up in traditional racing looks or use your imagination to create an outfit perfect for the Just for Fun categories.”
Joining Olivia in the role is one of Australia’s favourite leading men, Rob Mills. The star of musicals including Wicked and Legally Blonde, Rob is a regular entertainer on our television screens appearing most recently on Network 10’s Neighbours. Rob is also a champion of mental wellness. In addition to his new VRC role, Rob also joins Network 10's Melbourne Cup Carnival team as Fashion and Entertainment Reporter, helping bring the four-day Cup Week spectacular into the homes of all Australians.
“The Melbourne Cup Carnival has always been an event known for its incredible life and colour - a world-renowned spectacle that I have loved being a part of,” Rob said.
“It’s so exciting that this year I can combine my love of racing and the theatre of the Melbourne Cup Carnival into my role as Myer Fashions on your Front Lawn Ambassador. I urge all Australians to celebrate the best in racing and fashion from home, let your imagination run wild and enter the competition having created the most elaborate racing look. There are new fun categories to enter in addition to the traditional men’s and women’s racewear competition with sensational prizes on offer. My tip - the more show-stopping and outrageous your outfit, the better.”
VRC Executive General Manager Customer Engagement Caroline Ralphsmith said Olivia and Rob are ideal choices to represent the Myer Fashions on your Front Lawn competition.
“We are delighted to announce Olivia and Rob as the VRC’s Myer Fashions on your Front Lawn ambassadors. Olivia and Rob are regulars at Flemington and personify the sense of fun and style that we traditionally see across the Melbourne Cup Carnival,” Ms Ralphsmith said. ”Both will serve as great inspiration in encouraging all Australians, young and old, to get involved and enter this year’s digital competitions.”
The Myer Fashions on Your Front Lawn National Men’s and Women’s categories are now closed in the Australian Capital Territory, Northern Territory, South Australia, Tasmania and Western Australia. Entries in New South Wales, Queensland and Victoria will close on 17 October.
The Emerging Designer Award and Millinery Award are now open, with entries encouraged from developing designers and milliners until Tuesday 13 October.
